Testing the Peren Nera

Postby Racer-X » December 26th 2018, 11:58pm

"Here at Revolution, we are inundated with fledgling watch companies offering to have us write stories about their new watches, even if they are still just a sketch on a piece of paper and they have yet to raise the money for production.

As a result, I have a steadfast rule – I won’t write about a new watch until it has been produced, so that I can hold it my hand and feel the quality, or lack thereof.

So, when Andrei Bica-Popi of Transylvanian-brand (yes, that’s right, Transylvania!) Peren Watches sent me a production version of his new Peren Nera timepiece, I was keen to give it a try. I had heard about it, but had never seen it.

I must say, when I opened the box and put it on, I was very favorably impressed. Unlike many new companies, this wasn’t a light, cheap and cheerful watch meant to entice a millennial out of a hundred bucks or so. It was a substantial watch, well-designed and very well made, and it looked great."

Agreed that the article is bullshit (or in this case, elephant shit) :D

I did gain some knowledge of a time piece that I never heard about (and that is not saying very much :3 ) by reading the link and it is about a reference to a watch brand, Tornek Rayville.

And this link

This is quite the history of a watch that I never heard of.

Maybe some of the vintage watch members can attest to the apparent lore of then Tornek Rayville.

It even has a radiation warning on the case back in the second link.

So although the Peren Nera BS/ES, It did enjoy finding out about the Tornek Rayville.

Also on the case back of the Tornek Rayville is stamped

- " If Found, return to nearest military facility ".

- " Danger Radioactive material 2mc PM 147 ", and the radioactivity symbol. :3

I'll tell ya - a brand that touts "Transylvania" on its watch dials is different, that's for sure.

My gripe here is the photos - WTF?!? What's with the upside-down hands in pockets thing? Can we see the watch, please? Caseback? The only clear picture appears to be a promo photo from the makers. Good lord - the Gattshall/Bazinga! virus is spreading like the flu.

They should have called it the Perineum. Taint for me.
I checked you out, and I now want you to take the journey to lick my taint. It's small, but vast.

Transylvania... Right. I can understand why they wouldn't put "Romania" on the dial. That's because when people hear the phrase "Romanian engineering", they think of this...

...or this - which happens to be what's likely the only 4x4 with a reputation for not working at all:
His deepest need was that people should like him. An admirable trait, that... In a spaniel, or a whore.
