Invicta's On the Edge, of Glory(hole)

Postby betterskills » December 1st 2012, 6:56am

From Invicta's twitter account. Not sure why anyone wants to put more junk into space but I guess if these come back to earth successfully they can sell these for a premium to watchgeeks on ShopNBC. Maybe they'll do a live remote with Michael 'Asstronaut' Davis?

@invictawatch
#invicta #invictawatch #edgeofspace watch project. 36 watches will be deployed to the edge of space on Dec8th. Video will capture it all. Team getting ready! Long hours

This would be worthwhile if they capture some Youtube video of Mongo explosively decompressing in the horrible vacuum of space and blowing up like an M80 stuffed into the ass of a Chihuahua.
I checked you out, and I now want you to take the journey to lick my taint. It's small, but vast.

This will answer the age old horological question...do unattached watch hands float in space?
We called another exterminator to take care of the rat problem in the basement. This one hasn't come out either.

The question is who would be jumping this time? Felix Baumgartner again? And how are they going to strap 36 watches on the person?

First they claim they are the second company uses meteorite material besides Rolex and now they want to butt head with Zenith. Do they know no shame? No matter what their claim is, their watches are still sold in mall kiosks, TV, JCPenny and Costco.

My bad, A-Low did not come right out and said the word "Rolex", but he did mention many times on air they are selling meteorite dial thousands less than "this" other brand and their meteorite dial watch is housed in some museum. I wish I have video taped what he said.

The statements regarding meteorite that are usually made by both Invicter and ShopNBC staff are usually along the lines of "Invicta is one of two companies offering meteorite dials on a large-scale basis" or some such, and then obliquely referencing the upcharge that Rolex demands for their Gibeon meteorite dials.

The reason for the "on a large-scale basis" or "that are mass producing meteorite dials", etc. is that there ARE other companies that offer what they claim to be meteorite dials, but they are usually very small in quantity, and frequently the striations look completely different from the patterns you see in common on Rolex and Invicta dials, meaning that the "meteorite" in question is not the same type/source.

These statements are nothing new at all. It's been the same schtick since I first saw it in '08.

Many companies make meteorite dials...
Piaget (Polo Meteorite), Martin Braun's (Selene Meteorite), Ulysse Nardin's (Planetarium Copernicus), Omega (Moon Mission Collection), Jaquet Droz etc, etc...some using the Gideon meteorite (like Rolex), who have unique striations patterns called Widmanstatten lines , every meteorite have their own lines signature, meteorites used are usually from Namibia (Gideon), Sweden, Argentina, Russia and Arizona.
Aside from the watch manufacturers , private parties like Frank Heydrich in Arizona, makes some beautiful treated meteorite dials ....
As per Invicta ...to this day, I'm not certain they use actual meteorite in their dials , their credibility is ...say, none.

I can see it now, Sawman (because he is a member of the record Halo jump), jumping into the wild blue yonder,(well yellow if he is going to Invicta's watch factory). With a load of shit, (I mean Invicta's finest). Man what an exhilarating experience. Strange how I'm not jelous. Especially since he doesn't take a dime from Invicta.

Second,it is the lamest attempt I have ever seen to incorporate a recent event into one of the most bogus marketing campaigns ever.
