WL Fall Charity Auction--The Fourth!

WL Fall Charity Auction--The Fourth!

Postby conjurer » November 1st 2018, 4:11pm

Rightio, then. Time for another auction! The proceeds of this will be split between upkeep of the forum (one half) and the other half to Shriners Hospitals for Children (https://www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/shc). The rules are posted here: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=43368. First up:

Invicta Pro Diver:

With a pretty yellow dial, Flame Fusion crystal, and workhorse Seiko NH25 engine, the Pro Diver is sure to please even the most ardent of water-sport badbois. This is rated at 200m water resistant, so you can dive off the Great Barrier reef of the coast of Portugal or muff-dive with the seediest of barflies. At 43mm (47mm with crown, 14mm thick, and 51mm lug to lug), this will please the true size queen. One non-screw-down tyme knob. Comes on aftermarket rubber strap with matching stitching. No box or papers. Which is a good thing. Seriously, though--a great beater watch, or a fine gift for a brother-in-law!

Louis Bolle Automatic

Image

From the House of John House, this very pretty automatic is one of the better of the Chinese mushroom brands that once littered the airwaves on ShopAtHome and the old ShopNBC. 41mm across, 44.5mm with crown, 14.5mm thick, and 48mm lug to lug. A surprisingly nicely made dial, big date, sub-seconds. The bracelet on this one is sized pretty small (no extra links) and is too tight for my 6.75 inch wrist; however, the lug size is 20mm, so there should be plenty of strap options. No box or papers.

Kinda Vintage Citizen Automatic

This one seems to be the pick of the this goaround; a really nice older Citizen three-hander auto. Very cool two tone dial, kanji/English day wheel, and a good size (37mm across, 38mm with crown, 11mm thick, 40mm lug to lug. Lug width looks to be about 18mm. This watch comes on a very good Archer silocone strap that matches the dial well. Again, no box or papers.

This auction will run until Saturday, November 10, ending precisely at 8:00PM Pacific time. Bid early, bid often, and have fun!
I checked you out, and I now want you to take the journey to lick my taint. It's small, but vast.

Invicta, $30, NorthCountry.

Let's remember that the proceeds of this auction go to benefit the upkeep of the forum (50%) and Shriners Hospitals for Children. One fine member of this forum recently contacted me about how he could donate if he didn't win an auction; you can donate to the forum by the "donate" button at the top right of every forum page. For those who wish to donate to the Shriners, here's the site:

https://www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org/shc

Please remember that Watchlords, IFAIK, is the only watch forum on the entire planet that regularly raises money for sick kids, veterans, food banks, etc. To many, we are the haterz, the old, discusting [sic] liver-spotted fatbodies; God loves the Watchlords, because we keep heaven filled with fresh Geek souls. We are the haterz, and yet, when little sick kids need a hand, we always step up and help out. Where other fora are concerned with who has the most Comex Rollies, or who has the most Aragons from Master Wing, we here at Watchlords worry about some family with a kid who's sick and needs his life to be saved, and we always, always make good.

Thank you.

Bump for this auction, which will end tonight at 8:00PM Pacific time. Half the proceeds go to forum upkeep, half go to the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Please keep this uppermost in your mind should you decide to make a last minute bid.

Thanks!
