Steinhart Ocean Vintage Military 39 joins the Herd...

Postby Thunder1 » October 10th 2018, 3:46pm

This bad boy just arrived today via DHL..have already had the opportunity to size the rather nice bracelet and am wearing it now..the SS case measures 39mm wide, is 47mm lug to lug, and is about 14mm high(although it doesn't feel nearly that tall)..wears rather comfortably on my rather large wrist..the watch is a homage to a Rolex Submariner model #5517 of the 1970's era..supposedly 1,200 were made for the Royal Navy and only a couple of hundred survive today..it is powered by an ETA 2824-2..has a screw down, signed crown, and is # 895 of a supposedly limited production run...

I suspect the market for this baby consists of those of us that desire the look of a quality built 'Submariner' at an affordable price($499.00) that can serve as a daily wearer that they(we) don't have to worry about scratching up or banging about..this is my first Steinhart, but I understand that they have an excellent build quality rep and are great value for the bucks spent..we shall see..so far so good!!!..

Out of the Steinhart subs, that is the hot pick IMO. Lovely.

Steinies are the 'nads!! High quality at an honest price.
My first Bronzo was a Steinhart.
You're gonna like that one.

I like this one, those hands really make it stand out.

A really excellent watch, Mr. Thunder!
I checked you out, and I now want you to take the journey to lick my taint. It's small, but vast.

Damn nice watch there.
And the fact I'm still living rent free in his head makes me grin and giggle.

Yep. Another worthy addition to an outstanding collection. Really nice, and the price point doesn't even enter in to it.
