Ultra tough - 6 awesomely over-designed watches

Postby Racer-X » September 11th 2018, 12:07pm

“There are watches that are tough, and then there are watches so tough that they’re guaranteed to survive in even the most extreme environments, even if you wouldn’t. We’re talking over-engineering to the point where no man has been before. Watches that can take on the most dangerous of adventures, that push far beyond the limits of the human body’s capabilities, and yet come out the other side completely intact. Here are six over-designed watches that were built for the extremes.”

From this list, I only actually like the Aqua Terra. That second hand on it... A bit too funky, but doesn't completely blow.

The Seiko is OK. The Bremont and the Sinn are more or less palatable - I would never dare question their quality or durability, I just don't like the way they look.

The Rolex is probably the fugliest of Rolex divers, save perhaps the various gold and two-tone Subs, which make me want to return my dinner the way it came in.

The Richard Mille... How exactly is this uber-ghey Jessie boy toy "tough?" Great Scott, what a revolting pile of fucking shite...
His deepest need was that people should like him. An admirable trait, that... In a spaniel, or a whore.

The Richard Mille is particularly, Ozmandianly ghey (indeed, the first time I've used this superlative!!). The mind boggles with this watch; it is like dropping one's wallet in Seattle's Capital Hill neighborhood--you just keep kicking it down the street until you enter the South Lake Union district rather than bending over to pick it up. Driving a Mazda Miata in ass-less chaps is less ghey than this watch.
I checked you out, and I now want you to take the journey to lick my taint. It's small, but vast.

The Omega, Bremont and Seiko for me. Perhaps the Sinn, the rest not so much.

I've had my eye on a Sinn lately - guess I'd better be the first to cast a stone.
