It begins

Postby foghorn » March 13th 2018, 5:15am

The 3rd (and strongest) major storm in 2 weeks has begun at Foghorns Coop. Nearly 2 feet expected. It had been snowing for about a half hour when I decided I needed to venture out for the first and last time today.

It was still dark and the roads were slick but passable

Image

Keeping a safe distance-driving not too bad yet but stopping is a bit dodgy if over 20 mph

Image

The timing of the snow was great since it allowed to to get to the all important destination before the roads were under a foot of snow. (Secondary roads are low priority at times) Got there and back without a problem. Headed home.

Image

Oh yeah-and the reason for venturing out at 5:45 AM before a day of hunkering down

Image

Priorities.

I also call BS. The only thing that could get me out on the roads in weather like that would be a serious lack of booze.
I received unexpected shit news today. Yes it hit me hard, but the new me will embrace it, hugging the fuck out of the negativity until it becomes a positive!

I took inventory yesterday and stocked up at the packy.
But coffee from home just doesn't equal Dunks .
Now I'm in for the duration except for shoveling the front steps and walkway every 2 hours. Gots to try and stay ahead.
I wait for my plow guy for the driveway cleanup.

Why not purchase the Dunkin donuts ground coffee from the store? You can have it anytime you wish then. Just put it into the electric percolator and wait to hear that bubbly sound.

You should hire some slacker teenager from your neighborhood to do the shoveling, foggy. You keep doing that shit you'll keel over from a heart attack, you damned old fool!!

Hang in there, fog.

I don't know how, where I live, we got so lucky: Go 30 miles north from where I am in Queens, and they're getting a foot. Take a 20-minute drive to Suffolk County in Long Island, and they are getting bamboozled. Upstate? More misery. New England? Ask fog.

Where I am? A slightly slushy coating.

Lucky.

Kids shoveling snow is so 1960's. Ask them now and they'll say they can't do that shoveling stuff because of their carpal tunnel. Besides-it's all there is to do in this fucking weather. Sucks being trapped. Might be time to crack open a couple beers ,take a nap, and go back out. The weather guy just said maybe another one next week. Fuck me sideways!
