Feeling Kind of Blue

Feeling Kind of Blue

Postby tiktok » January 9th 2018, 5:57pm

So the blue enamel landed at Boutique de Seiko today. They upped their game enough to have me say, "Okay, that was worth the hullabaloo." Advance deposit, price creeping north. Comes in a simple wooden box, looks like pine box we Jews use for burial...momentary creep out but hey their art director ain't named Rosenberg.

The SA says they have figured out a design that will keep the croc strap from curling up. I find Seiko's new backwards deployant a bit awkward but works fine once you fit it to your wrist.

On the wrist the fit is fine, the crown winds very smooth with the venerable 6R at the helm.

It's sold out...msrp was like $1100. I've seen a few on Recon from Japanese sellers.

It was kind of funny, I was at the boutique and people were calling in trying to reserve blue pieces with specific numbers in them...track the public, it's not a freaking Greubel Forsey although we do use certain number combinations say if we make an offer on property.

Wow. That is one sharp piece by any standard. Looks under-priced from where I sit.

Love the case, movement and seconds hand, don't like the dial - but then again, contemporary enamel dials with a date window were never my cup of tea in the first place. Still, it's just oozing quality.

Really excellent choice!

Seiko has been releasing all kinds of awesome LEs lately. I’ve picked up a few myself that I haven’t shared yet. :D

At the very least, you know these models will hold their value. Especially this blue enamel Presage, because it’s a knockout.

Nice work!
