Guy drives to Nomos factory to pick up his Heimat

Postby Racer-X » January 10th 2017, 7:28pm

This looks like great fun.

"I have owned a Rolex Sea Dweller 16600 for almost 10 years and have been looking for a more dressy watch for a while. At some point I fell in love with the Zurich Weltzeit but decided to wait for a proper occasion to gift it to myself. About half a year ago I found the time was right, but to my dismay NOMOS changed the design. German place names became english, and the word "heimat" is now a little icon of a house. I wanted a heimat.

After searching on the internet and stores for a couple of weeks, I sent an email to NOMOS asking if they could help me, and fortunately they had a heimat model they used to bring to tradeshows. Yay!!! I had to drive from NL to Munich so decided to swing by Glasshuette to pick it up there.

Beautiful watch, love the layered dial. Has a kind of Memovox vibe.

That guy looks suspiciously like Dr. Smellody.

The journey. Seven hours of ball tingling anticipation. Seven hours back left hand driving and grinning.

Vicariously enjoying the excellent adventure and reward.

Cheers
