Always good to jog down memory lane. It's also a nice reminder of what mouth-breathing, knuckle-dragging believe-whatever-TV-tells-them lunkheads that so many of the WGs continually display themselves to be.

If people don't want to wade through all the bullshit and asskissing in that thread, allow me to briefly paraphrase what Eyal said:

We'll put whatever we damned well feel like on and inside any watch, because the Swiss Federation guidelines have absolutely no jurisdiction when it comes to Invicta.

So "Swiss Made" watches with Chinese movements and assembly for everyone! Woohoo!
Proud "hater" since 2009. Get over it and have fun reassembling yer wartches.

That's it in a nutshell. At the end the loyal minions are saying "I don't care! I'll buy them all!"
The company admits lying to them. They don't care.
This is why I could never wear an Invicta, even one of the "good" ones. Even as a weeding-the-garden beater. To me, you may as well tattoo "MORON" on your forehead.

I'm sorry, I know some here still enjoy a few Invictas, but I just couldn't, not at any price. There are too many other, quality options at any price point to consider Invicta, and why support such an organization?

In a nutshell, that is why I dumped ALL of mine. Yes, I was naive and drank the koolaide, but NO, Eyal and Co will never see another penny from me.

I had 7 Invictas at one point.
I sold four while I participated at WG.
I traded one for a plate of wings and a beer at Hooters. (master force or some shit, 52mm of black plated sorrow) True story.
Gave one to someone that always compliments my watches (pro diver on a nato)
I have one left (ocean reef) that will never be near my wrist again, but I'm still deciding whether to sell it somewhere or give it away.
Never will Lalo EVER get another penny from me. Ever.

An ugly, cheap, chinese piece of shit is just that. Don't try to pass it off as the greatest masterpiece to ever come out of Switzerland (and because you're in on this little secret called shopnbc, we'll let ya have it for a fraction of those other brands, on on value-pays to boot)

What a shame.

I have had 3 and this is the only one left. I am keeping this POS. I gave the Excursion and Bolt to my nephew. :albino:

After all, no ham-wristed louts complained when all watches were 34mm - no cries of "looks like a little girl's watch on my wrist!" Like King Canute on the beach, that's where I draw the line - come what may.

Tz, I think you speak for many of us here - but therein lies the rub. What to do with the four IWG products that sit, still running, in my "bad/cheap watch" box that actually was a giveway wooden box sent to me by the Mets for being a season subscriber?

Well, much like the Mets' ticket packages, I know a bad deal when I see one; and bad watches too. So what to do with the 8926 and the other three? Well, my wife actually likes two of the other three, so I gave one to her, as she doesn't have the righteous indigation that I do about the brand. But as I mentioned here previously, chucking out a watch feels like a sin akin to putting books in a dumpster, I can't bring myself to do it. Likewise, I never paid more than $70 or so for any of my IWG models, and I couldn't bring myself to sell them to anyone since I won't want to spread the virus.

So..from time to time..I actually wear my IWG pieces. I have to. It's a waste to do any other thing. It's not often, but I do put them on every now and again. It's like when you're really sick with a stomach flu and you reach that moment when you tell yourself, "go ahead, vomit, it won't be so bad," then you feel like you're in hell.

I probably put too much thought into this stuff, but I'm like you - I don't want a single passerby to even remotely think that I give the slightest approval to IWG. Yet, I own four.

I gotta pitch 'em someday, and I probably will.

Anytime a geek talks about taking a caseback off, Mikey and the mods are quick to chime in with "that will void your 5 year warranty!" Now we know why they do that - they don't want you to see what's inside.

"Kill them all then, colonel. I would not have them be brave in the Devil's service!"
