5 Top Enamel Watches with Chinese Elements

Postby koimaster » September 22nd 2011, 1:58pm

As the inevitable trend of globalization, the Chinese culture is popular all over the world. Nowadays, Chinese styled things such as fashion clothes and wrist watches are so preferred by Chinese fans that top designers have been ranking their brains to add some Chinese styled elements such as material, design and artistic conception into their masterpiece. It is at this time we suddenly realize that the remaining colors and images on the dials are quietly serving as a foil to Chinese myth.

Patek Philippe’s Birds of Paradise Enamel Wrist Watch

Are you amazed at the exquisite design and the harmonious colors? The dial markers are in birds shape that hovering in the blue sky. What’s more, the second hand, minute hand and the hour hand are so delicately designed that their combination looks like a happy free soaring bird

Sorry, I see this and think Swatch. Oddly, I like the treatment (as well as Japanese Maki-E) on fountain pens.

Those are all worthy and beautiful watches.

Beijing Watch factory produces its own series of high end enamal dial watches that run from roughly 8-10 to 15,000 USD:

I don't think that one is an enamel dial ,or is marketed as such. But I might be wrong.

As much as I like a number of the enamel watches, Chinese or not, I agree: that's stunning.

I guess I forgot to use the Image icon in my last post. For those unfamiliar with that beauty, it was supposedly designed by one Jim Skelton and produced by Invicta. I believe he lovingly dedicated the design to our Owner here, and aptly named the watch Koi.

Well, there ya go...but I still like it. It's a cool idea and pretty nicely realized.

Of course, lots of folks here are waaaaay more familiar with Invicta's product lines than I am. Image Image
