While I admire a lot of the Chinese designs you show us, AT, they usually don't do a whole lot for me.

That one, however, gives me a blued-steel pulsating stiffy. Great pics, as usual.
Jim...you are a ray of sunshine here.

What he said but the exact opposite. This is the first one that I'm not a fan of.
Never much cared for peacocks either. Silly birds.

Differing taste: the main reason there's often enough for everyone.

Not a fan of this one. I like the "Kongque Peacock" from your museum much more.

...and it's made by Liaoning as well :-). Kongque and Hongqi were both Liaoning brands, the later Kongque (Peacock) branding taking over as Liaoning's top brand following the retiring of the Hongqi brand.

The peacock art is interesting; is that dial enamel?

No, it's a type of lacquer coated dial used extensively in China in the 70s and 80s...very durable. I think the Peacock is a decal that is in between layers of lacquer.

The lacquer is beautiful- in the pic it looked like it might actually be cloisonné or something intaglio; guess it would have been more colorful. You sure find some cool watches man.
