The Ingersoll "Dewey" Dollar Watch

Not mine but I found the advert and images years ago and forgot about them.
Date to 1899.

I found these adverts that are for watches made from metal recovered from the sunken "Maine" in 1898.

Also this one from 1900, click on the image to enlarge. ... nge&page=1

Possibly the first use of "DNA" in a watch!

"You may fire when you are ready, Gridley."
Manila Bay, 1898. Commodore Dewey Cmdr. USN Pacific Squadron on board flagship USS Olympia.
"General, those brave men will not surrender - what shall we do?"
"Kill them all then, colonel. I would not have them be brave in the Devil's service!"

Look at those really early reviews... in print not on social media.
Lots to be said for print.
