New O-Mi-gah mechanical art piece

Postby smellody » April 16th 2019, 6:17pm

Picked this bad boi up today.

It is literally a piece of art. Powered by an unstoppable Omega mechanical keeping perfect time (at least since 10am).

I think it is cool and will wear it tomorrow.

The greenery is painted on the inside of the crystal making the whole scene almost two dimensional.

It's signed, but in do not know the name.

Here is my school performing for food this evening:

That is neat, I’d buy and wear that. A full review is needed.

At an oval 32mm, it wear like a 36mm DJ. Not small!

Thanks! I'll write up more but for background. ...

I've been picking up a few dressier watches. In my line of business I can't really sport too blingy a sport oyster while presenting or at meetings... I really want a new Cellini Prince, but it will not happen anytime soon...

So, I've picked up some more affordable dress watches like my Hamilton Masterpiece

and Tudor Le Royer

Last week, at RedBar I meet a collector/dealer RIchard. He brought a collection of about 100 Swiss divers from the 50's, 60's, and 70's and gave a nice impromptu lecture.

He has relocated to Portland from NY.

I checked out his website:
https://www.timetitans.com

And browsed his Ebay auctions. I came across this and asked. He offered it to me a price I could NOT day no to.

Today, he met me downtown and brought me the watch. He also brought along a 20lb vacheron pocket deck chronometer from WWII that I am now obsessed with.

I'll probably wear this bad boy with my seersucker jacket and a pink shirt.

Dang, Smells. Those are lovely. And that Omega is just awesome. Very much fancy and I like it.

The dial looks kinda fishy

I have one De Ville (unsigned dial) with the same movement - it's a decent little thing.

I'm not quite sure who was behind the design of the cal.625, but it appears to have been a joint venture of Omega, Tissot, and - surprise, surprise! - Zenith.

Nice watch.

Thanks for the reference info. Didn't know the Zenith connection.
