Checking out the Casio Edifice EQB-501

Postby koimaster » July 10th 2019, 10:26am

Back in June, Casio was celebrating (along with other brands, one presumes) Nation Wristwatch Day. Along with that, there were a few watches that came in to the review desk. While the timing didn’t work to publish right on that day, we’re getting to them now. The first watch we’ll be taking a look at is the Casio Edifice EQB-501.

The older I get (and the need for reading glasses) the less I want a busy dial. Nice enough, just too much for me and my eyes.

Since it's a Casio, it's likely as reliable as possible. I just don't like the looks of it.

Same. I imagine it clocks in rather large, too.

"Nation Wristwatch Day"?

Who's the writer, Michael Davis?

EDIT: Ohhh, I just scrolled: John Biggs. From Gattshall to Bazinga! to Biggs, these are the days of our lives.

As for the watch: I've seen worse. I don't have a need for it, but it's all right. I'm sure it's solid.
I bought a dive watch from them that literally had “dive” in the name. The instructions said not to dive with it - it was only meant to LOOK like a dive watch. It was also fast by more that a minute per day. Garbage. Never again. - IWG buyer on Reddit

The article's by a fellow called Patrick Kansa, who - on a regular basis - either works or has worked for ABTW. Appears that Bloody Blockhead Biggs is the guy who owns the WristWatchReview blog. No less, I wouldn't expect much of anything connected to Biggs - his record of writing load by load of complete and utter bollocks pretty much rules him out as having any standards. Him running a blog is like trying to use a cat as a sheepdog - you know it just won't fucking work; the bottom line is that the cat and Blockhead Biggs will be busy licking their own ballsacks instead of getting the job done.
