Inspired by Elvis: Three Hamilton Ventura Anniv Editions

Postby Racer-X » April 8th 2017, 10:39pm

by Mark Bernardo "Among the flurry of watch-world milestones commemorated in 2017 is the Jan. 3, 1957 launch of the Hamilton Ventura, the world’s first electrical battery-powered wristwatch — later made even more famous as the watch worn by Elvis Presley in his 1961 movie, Blue Hawaii. On the occasion of this iconic timepiece’s 60th anniversary, Hamilton is launching a trio of new models inspired by the original, including an ultra-modern, avant-garde skeleton version."

I like the Ventura, but not these. You would think they could get one out of three that I like, but my money is safe here.

I never was able to warm up to that design. To me it's the Ploopoof of dress watches.
Sorry Elvis and Mort, but somebody has to be "that guy" :3

Me too, Foggy. Never cared for the Ventura.

My wife actually owns a women's Ventura for about 10 years now; she always wanted one and we finally got one. I saw it at Ashford for some dumb low price and pounced on it.

A couple years back, they came up with some "Elvis" Ventura autos that I certainly would wear, but not the ones in that article.
Since many people weren't in lockstep with his beloved cheese box shit watch brand, The Cruise King ran off blowing snot bubbles, far away from his once-beloved forum. Here, eat this mudpie, Paw Paw. It tastes like a Hershey bar. Go ahead, dig in.

Pirates as well. I mean, lumberjacks don't like pirates. That would be creepy. I mean, pirates like diamonds and shit.
I checked you out, and I now want you to take the journey to lick my taint. It's small, but vast.

Well ok then. A pirate, now that's where it is at. Cool. I await you and Conj's stories of pirating. They should be very explicit and fascinating.

At 28mm, I get the feeling you'd blow apart that Hamilton with your massive, wood-choppin' wrist.

The Ventura personifies the decade. Jet planes, rocket flight and the atomic age.

Can't stop idolizing the king.
