Going with one of my Burett watches, this model your basic quartz chronograph with a Swiss Ronda movement onboard. It's an exceptionally good performer on the wrist, and, at about 45mm, it's not too big to wear for a full day of right-seat work, my favorite part of the job (insert sarcasm emoji here ;) ). Have a great start to your collective weekends, my brethren (and sistren!) Lords... 8-)

My Dad's best friend, now deceased, was a Korean POW and survivor of the Tiger Death March. Trying to find a good read on that history. Was a great guy, very humble and loved the fifth of Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey I gifted my Dad. Miss talking with him.

Have taken care of a Bataan Death March survivor in the remote past so reading about it now.

Every year in my old hometown (Maywood, Illinois) they had a Bataan Day celebration; apparently, there were a lot of Illinois National Guardsmen who had been activated and sent to the Philippines just before Pearl Harbor, and ended up in the death march run by those yellow bastards wily Nipponese.

I've been wearing one on the left for yard work today. I will switch to the one on the right later to go out for dinner.

Many thanks for posting the material on the POW, 'Loaf; I forgot who it was, but it was once said of the American Soldier, "Where do we get such men as these?" It's both very sad and frightening that so few Americans nowadays know much about our armed forces; it used to be that pretty much everyone used to have a relative who served, or at least knew someone, who knew someone, etc. Nowadays people see our uniforms and ask if we're anything from bus drivers to airline pilots...
