Admiral Spunk's exciting travels to the old world

Look whom the brave Admiral encountered today:

Image

This is the only poisonous snake in Norther Europe, a "Common European Viper". They have become rare in Germany, this one was taking a sun bath on a quiet farm road in a swampy area close to my home.

Their venom is actually pretty strong, but they only produce small amounts, thus fatal accidents are practically unheard of. Anyways, it is more likely for a dog to be bitten (ours didn't notice it, luckily, when we were driving by on our bicycles).

You can see by comparison to Spunks, this is a rather small one. They do grow up to 40 inches.

This one wins the prize for bold watch photo of the tour.

Big brass balls to get this photo!

That would make a lovely strap for The Admiral.

Yes, but what kind of condiments would go best on a viper dog? Pesto? Garlic Aioli? I'm stumped...

Frankly, speaking, when I first spotted the snake from my bike I thought in ways of "oh, looks like a dog's business... have ours already completed their tasks?". I means seriously - look at the color and shape. And You guys are discussing how to make a meal out of it...

Btw. according to our law it would not be legal. This snake is under protection of a wild life program.

Admiral de Spunk in Berlin... first for a short visit to Chancelor Angela Merkel (her palace is in the background, it is the concrete building complex. Larger than the White House  .)

Next, the Brandenburg Gate:

No Berlin Wall pictures on this tour - sometimes the taxi will drive by remainders of it, but not this time - the city was pretty crowded, and the driver was already pretty annoyed when I asked him to go by the Brandenburg Gate.
Finally a shot of the impressive Holocaust Memorial.

So. The spunkster has left my home and, for good or evil, is now en route to the US again. Next host will be Lord Tzimisces. I wish him well!
