Ventus: Northstar 300m Heritage Diver

Postby koimaster » March 11th 2019, 9:32am

We offer the Northstar in both Brass and Stainless steel cases. Brass is a material which patinas as you wear it. This makes each watch unique to its owner and every watch will have its own story to tell.

Despite its diminutive size, the Northstar was developed to offer the best specifications for an astounding price. The case is rated for 300m of water resistance, with a double domed sapphire crystal shielding the watch against any scrapes encountered during dives. This sapphire crystal has Anti-reflective coating on the inside to prevent unwanted glare. The use of ceramic inserts (N-1, 2, 5) offer added protection and will ensure your watch remains pristine no matter the abuse.

The dial of the Northstar features a sunburst pattern and applied indices. These indices are filled with Swiss Superluminova C3 lume to offer the best glow. Each date wheel is reprinted to match the color of the dial, a step omitted by Swiss timepieces priced in the thousands.

Inside, the automatic Seiko Nh35 movement will ensure years of fuss free operation

I signed up for my first Kickstarter.
It’s a 40mm, not ugly and the cheapest brass I have seen.
It’s a sister company of Zelos, so that isn’t bad.
I’m not sure if I will like this patina magnet or not, but at least I won’t lose a lot of money if I don’t take to it.
Now I sit and wait.

Well, goddamn it, Allison... When a Lord of your standing signs up, it makes me sit up and notice.

Perhaps this doesn't fucking blow.

It’s not a great looking watch, but it isn’t ugly. It’s the price, brass and 40mm that got me.

On watchrecon, their previous models resell quickly, so if I want to trade it or sell it I should break even. Or I could donate it for auction here if I don’t take to it, give someone else a chance to try out a brass. I’ve read about brass and bronze watches, I’m not sure about all the differences though.
All military guys, remember in boot camp when we had to shine our brass insignias? I’m thinking this will be like that, easily pitted and tarnished.
I will probably get the blue, it has a solid brass bezel. I like the black, but not the bezel insert on it. I’m not fond of green, so it isn’t a consideration.
They are offering up a Horween strap for it now, it looks better than the rubber. The stainless models are now coming with an option add on stainless bracelet too.
I’m not a fan of Kickstarter, but I had no luck finding a cheap one in a small size, so at this price, I’ll try it.
