Glycine @ Ashford

The aforementioned forum darling shipped out of New Jersey on Tuesday and will be at my mailbox this afternoon.

Edit: The watch came in as scheduled but they shipped me the 48mm black dial. I had ordered the 42mm brown dial. Not sure how I feel about the larger size, even though I still wear some larger watches from time to time. Leaning towards keeping it. Does it look to big?

And I should get my eyes checked. It's a brown dial.

Nice looking watch NC! But if it were me, it would be going back.
Ashford has a great return policy, I'd use it.

To me 48mm is too buckin' fig.

If you unhappy with it, contact them and let them know they sent the wrong watch and exchange it at their cost.

Hey NC, what is your impression of the watch ?
Must be nice/ok/decent/sharpe if you are mulling over keeping it.

Mine will be here on Monday, coin flip on which size arrives......

No doubt about the size, it's bigger than I have been wearing. My wrist has a pretty good taper down to my hand due to thicker forearms so I have to wear it a little higher up the wrist to not get any overhang. Still, it feels comfortable enough and it looks great in person. 120 click bezel, my other Glycine Subs have the 60, and the red second hand is cool. Don't worry about the dial being a shit brown color, more of a black look to it, probably depends on the light. If Ashford can't replace it with a 42mm I'm going to keep it. More bronze to patina I guess.

Doesn't look outrageous on your wrist. Biggish but not out-sized or clownish. My largest watch is also a 48mm - Glycine KMU 48 manual wind. I wear it often - same deal - biggish but not clownish. Most of mine run around 36mm - 42mm. https://www.amazon.com/Glycine-Kriegs-M ... B01DOG4ABQ

If you should decide to go the canvas route, I suggest your take a look at the Dassari canvas straps over the Barton canvas versions..I originally had my Oris on a Barton..see pic below...

Here is the same watch on a Dassari…

I just think the Dassari has more of a true canvas appearance..

I like the darker brown leather. I'd get a bronze buckle for it so it darkens along with the case.

The strap I ordered for my Steinhart came with a bronze pvd buckle so I ordered a bronze direct from them.

So, all of the 42mm bronze Combat Subs are spoken for for the Ashford, Glycine-Direct, and Watchgooroos sites..those that are still interested and/or missed out, will have to wait for the next batches, apparently(or pick up a previously loved example)...

Mine arrived....all 42mm of it. Leaving it in the vacuum packed bag until I decide whether to Renaissance it or leave exposed.
Kind of like the appearance as it is.

Also, knowing I wouldn't be home, I had my Fedex package diverted to a local Walgreens two miles down the road.
Worked like a champ, no packages left on our porch, no additional cost for the diversion & thanked Walgreens by purchasing a six pack of barley pops.

Going forward, will probably divert all my Fedex packages to Walgreens, they are open late and someone is always there.
