They look great but the prices are substantially higher just for adding IP to existing watches.

I owned a Seiko SKA for a good few years before donating to a family member. I mullered the piss out of it, using it as my only DIY watch. It had a black IP coating, and to be fair, it held up remarkably well. Even the dents were still black. Although the finishing may not be some faux chemical experiment cooked up by a luxury Swiss maison, it was tough enough for me!

Still prefer a steel one, though.
