With the Prospex Marinemaster Professional Reference SLA021J1 , Seiko is once again expanding its renowned collection of diving watches. Their timepieces are considered reliable and can be had in different price ranges. The new reference SLA021J1 is among the more expensive and costs 3,200 euros.

It comes in 44-millimeter monobloc stainless steel housing. The single-shell construction does not require a helium valve for professional diving and offers a pressure resistance of 30 bar, which corresponds to the conditions in 300 meters of water.

The interior uses the automatic caliber 8L35 , which offers more than 50 hours of gear autonomy. It is being pulled up by the significant jack lift "Magic Lever" by Seiko.

For best readability and ease of use ensures the typical signature Seiko diver watches: distinctive index appliques, powerful hands and a minute-scale scaled, one-sided rotatable diving bezel. The Prospex Marinemaster Professional remains readable under all lighting conditions thanks to the Lumibrite phosphor coating.

Another advantage is the screw-down crown at four o'clock, which is protected by its position from shocks. The stainless steel band is equipped with a diving band extension and can thus easily be worn over a diving suit. Case and strap are covered with a special hard coating and protect the watch from scratches. The Prospex Marinemaster Professional will be delivered in a special box with a changing strap. MaRi

3200 euro? They're not quite right in the head...

I know right...they could charge more than double that if they would just put 'made in Swiss' on the dial

Signing crowns is for parts-bin watchmakers

Horrible bracelet and ratcheting clasp ruin these watches for me. Most horribly designed clasp ever. It's big, clunky, fugly, and doesn't work well. It completely ruined the SBGA029 I owned for me.

Bracelets on dive watches. Just say no.

The MM range are great watches and are really well put together - just wish they'd lose that 'X' off the dial.
