If you miss Croton, they simply moved from ShopNBC to Wow.Tv, if you must know.

But why do you care? You're not off to a good start here, son. Plus, before posting, do a search; the topic's been covered here. And I gotta say this, too: If you paid a whopping 275 for any version of a Super C? Man, did they see you coming.

Personally, the idea that the Merm is no longer on Shop is galling to me.

$275? For a Croton? Hmm... Seiko BFK or Croton? Let me think about this...

This is, like so many things, relative. In the world of TV watches, the Croton Super C is a Patek Calatrava for those of us who regard watches as something more than shit sold on very bad TV. Likewise, David Mermelstein, AKA the Merm, is the TV watch version of Nick Hayek. The original Super C was a pretty cool watch, fitted with a gilt version of the ETA 2824, and handcrafted in the finest sweatshops of the Far East, the TV watch equivalent of the Jura region of Switzerland. Later, when the Merm evidently ran out of the 2824's that fell off the back of a truck, Croton started using crappy Chinese movements in the Super C.

So, if the OP is referring to the original Super C, $275 isn't an outlandish price.

ShopNBC without 'the Merm' is like Burger King without that creepy, life-sized plastic king dummy that did all those really weird BK commercials...

Well said, goddamn it. The Burger King commercials were so opaque and surreal, Luis Bunuel could have directed them. And, with the end of the Merm era, one of the few reasons to watch the train-wreck that is Shop has also gone away.

For $255.00 I bought a new Hamilton Khaki mechanical watch, with an ETA 2804 movement, all Swiss. You have to look hard, but you can still get a decent watch for less than 3 bills.

A Hamilton will still be ticking away, while the Croton? What good is a lifetime warranty if all you got is an Asian made watch, with questionable movement.

I'll take a Hamilton, Seiko, Citizen or Bulova anyday. If any of these watches needs servicing, you can take them to the closest jeweler, while the "tv" brands probably not.
Since light travels faster than sound, some people appear bright until you hear them speak.

The only things you have to offer are mangled syntax, a complete lack of taste, and very likely yellow teeth. I rarely say this to anyone here, but fuck off, troll. I don't know how you got past the vet process, but WGs or MyWristWatch.net are the places for you - unless you're already a member there and just came here to be able to go back there and complain about how mean you got treated here. No matter the case, get bent.

A prescient bump; had a Croton beater go bye-bye today. Got about, oh, seven years out of it, and it cost about 30 smackers. Not cryin' over it, but these type watches are what they are. Rarely wore the thing and I sure as hell am not gonna fix it.

Oh, and get bent.
