Robin Williams’s watch collection up for auction

Robin Williams’s watch collection up for auction

Postby koimaster » October 17th 2018, 9:08am

Through the course of his monumental career as a stand-up comedian, actor, and oft-talked-about celebrity, there was one lesser-known fact about Robin Williams that never really became part of mainstream consciousness: The man was seriously into watches. On Oct. 4 in New York, Sotheby’s will auction off 44 of them, alongside a collection of items from Williams’s estate and that of his second ex-wife, Marsha, including a fantastic collection of artwork and memorabilia. Now there is little surprise that an actor of his level of success and fame would have a smattering of luxury watches, but looking at many of the specific pieces on the docket, it’s abundantly clear that his interest in horology was anything but surface level.

Of the diverse offering, these eight timepieces are the ones we’ll be keeping an eye on.

Nice watches indeed. The Daniel Roth is the tits!

Edit: I Have never said this to anyone but The World According to Garp scarred me for life. The driveway scene always came to mind when it shouldn't have.

That's a really freakin' great collection.

And despite the high end stuff? I bet the engraved Hamilton fetches the most scratch.

That’s a cool collection, no doubt about that. OK, maybe except the Franck Muller turdbillion, which blows.

The Daniel Roth is gorgeous. The Hamilton w/ engraving is unique and would be a sweet watch to have in person collection.
