Cool Watches Seen in ‘The Meg’

The timepieces can't be missed in the toothy thriller.
The Meg has taken a surprising bite out of the summer box office, racking up $45.4 million in the U.S. opening weekend. In addition, the array of timepieces prominently placed on stars Ruby Rose, Li Bingbing and Jason Statham surely wound up watch aficionados.

Because we love a good “Hey, look at my watch!” moment in a film, here’s a trio of dive-friendly timepieces you can’t help but notice in The Meg’s quieter moments:

Shouldn't the characters in a cheesy, silly film wear cheesy and silly watches? Like, the Invicter Bolt Zeus?

As to the watches actually used...
The Seiko chrono - good.
The Bucherer - revolting and Invictesque.
The IWC - Invictesque size.
An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile - hoping it will eat him last.

The Meg. A top 10 full of actual good films, and THE MEG soars to #1.

Ain't that America, somethin' to see, baby.
Proof that quartz is still not only viable, but sometimes, something to covet: Grand Seiko.
