Honest Opinions Requested for Possible Purchase....

Postby Thunder1 » August 14th 2018, 7:23am

Hi there folks..well, I'm on the fence about this one...the subject in question is the Junkers 30th Anniversary Iron Annie 5902-4...I'm largely attracted to the dial layout, w/ some reservations..I'm particularly drawn to the PR feature, but don't much care for the 'Limited Edition' scribing at the 3 hour location & the 'screwed in lugs'..the SS case measures 43mm in width.. I could pick it up for about $1,100.00 American from 'watchexclusive.eu' .. has an ETA 6498 manual wind engine & sapphire rear crystal, w/ some perlage work done on the movement bridges..what do you folks think?..too expensive & too gimmicky for what one could get at that price point?..would appreciate opinions..

I think Iron Annie is a stand alone brand made by the company that also makes Junkers watches.
As far as the watch goes the feature that you like (PR) is the one that I like the least. It takes up too much space. Aside from that it's a beautiful watch. The price seems a little high but not outrageous. I kind of like the lugs. It is up there as far as uniqueness goes.

Nice looking watch. As Jeff says, a bit pricey but if you like the watch then purchase it. At least it is not a $1,253 "very expensive" invicta.

I actually like the size and placement of the PR. And overall I like the watch. However, it just seems a bit high on price. A very unique dial layout.

Yup. It'll wear like a dinner plate, too.
I checked you out, and I now want you to take the journey to lick my taint. It's small, but vast.

Out of curiosity, isn't that the plane that just went down in the Alps?

I don't quite like the design. There's far too much going on in there, and most of it seems somehow mismatched.

As to the movement, no fireworks there, a rather pedestrian Unitas with only some Cotes de Geneve pattern. It is a good movement, but here...well...yawn. Looks like they haven't exactly tried to make it look good. There's plenty of Unitas-powered stuff out there, for half the price.

Iron Annie is the nickname of the Junkers Ju-52, and indeed, the plane that recently crashed in the Swiss Alps was a Ju-52.

A tad on the pricey side.

Nice looking. This is the first time I've ever heard of this brand so I got nothin'.

Seems to be a pretty high premium price wise placed on the special edition mumbo-jumbo given the parts list.

So what would it cost without the SE B.S.? $900-$950'ish? If you like it, it's worth a couple'a C's, wtf.

I didn't know You would call a Ju-51 "Iron Annie". In German we call it "Tante (auntie) Ju". Tragic accident. A couple of members of my Swiss forum had a GTG there a couple of years ago and did fly as well. As You may know Breitling was a sponsor.

I do NOT like the PR. It is too big. The rest is ok. But that is just my opinion.

I'd rock that! The dial is beautiful and I love the movement. 43mm isn't too big but it is a bit pricey.
