"Roachman"

Postby jonnybardo » March 13th 2013, 3:04pm

Not sure where to put this question, but the general forum seems as good as any.

Has anyone purchased a watch from Roachman.com? Recently? Though my tastes have run more expensive over the last few months, I'm tempted to pick one of these bad boys up and Roachman's is the only place I've seen that has them:

Seiko SNZG45 & SNZG47

What say you? Reliable seller? Decent enough watch?

Reliable seller, I have purchased from him for many years, today days his business is run by his wife, I heard...
Not sure if you can call his offerings "bad boys" but they are mostly Japan and Asia only market models .

eddiea, good to know. I know his offerings are lower-end, but some nice looking watches there that aren't readily available in the States.

I've ordered from Roachman. Got my recommendation, for what it's worth.
I'd say "inexpensive" rather than "low-end".

Youse guys are busting my bubble here.

During my brief appearance at WG I had thought that they were exhibiting uncommon knowledge of British English with that admittedly hackneyed phrase.

Definition of PROUD
1
...
4
chiefly British : raised above a surrounding area "The stock was proud of the receiver and appeared to have been inletted and fitted by a drunken monkey"

Hence, "Wear that bad boy proud" simply meant "Wear that thing sticking up way too fucking far from your wrist to not look clownish".

And now I learn it actually meant "Wear that thing with no sense of shame whatsoever".

Both the imprecision of the language and my sorry grasp of it is (are?) troubling this early in the morning.
And the fact I'm still living rent free in his head makes me grin and giggle.

Thanks for directing me to this seller. He has some very interesting designs. Among others, I like this: (silver tone)
