Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Ref. 5320G Watch Hands-On

Postby Racer-X » June 24th 2017, 3:54pm

by Kenny Yeo "The history surrounding the first perpetual calendar wristwatch is a little hazy, but the Patek Philippe Ref. 97975 is widely regarded to be one of, if not the first wristwatch to feature a perpetual calendar. As a result, there’s something special when Patek Philippe releases a new perpetual calendar watch. And this was exactly what happened earlier this year at Baselworld 2017 when they announced the new Patek Philippe Perpetual Calendar Ref. 5320G, which is a little special because it adapts and combines traits of various vintage Patek Philippe perpetual calendar watches."

I don't care how well crafted , what it's fucking made of , the reputation of the manufacturer , how exclusive it is , or how small the stupid leap year window and idiotic day/night indicator is 82,000 bucks is fucked up for any watch.
I hope that this quote was made in jest.

"It relieves its owners of the arduous task of having to adjust the watch to account for the inconsistencies of the number of days in a month."

It is a beautiful watch. But the price is indeed nuts. Then again, comparable watches from VC and Lange are priced similarly, so it doesn't really go above the average. However, since Patek are bid-rigging wankers, I wouldn't get one, even if by any miracle I ever could (which is unlikely).
Do you think I'm a hypocrite? Well, you should. I wouldn't disagree with you.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
