Rado Captain Cook 37mm & 45mm For 2017 Hands-On

Postby Racer-X » May 27th 2017, 4:36am

by Ariel Adams "Rado is pretty straightforward in how they describe the 2017 Captain Cook models as "vintage replicas." The Swiss brand under the Swatch Group makes it very clear that one of the two 2017 Rado Captain Cook models is a rather direct replica of the original 37mm Captain Cook models from the 1960s. At the same time, they released a larger, much more modern 45mm version of the Captain Cook. I like this honest, and dual strategy behind bringing an existing item from the brand's history back for today - catering to vintage-style watch enthusiasts, as well as modern watch enthusiasts"

If history is any indicator they should turn up at Ashford in a couple of days for well under 200.00 each.
When two opposite points of view are expressed with equal intensity, the truth does not necessarily lie exactly halfway between them. It is possible for one side to be simply wrong.

I hope. I now have the 37mm on my list if it goes on a super sale or if I can get a good deal on a used one.

Believer it or not, I'd probably pick the 37mm as well. I have a whole bunch of sub-40mm watches and they look just fine.

Those are pretty sharp. They really do look like vintage, but in all the best ways. Great concept.
