Why do people wear a dive watch when diving?

Why do people wear a dive watch when diving?

This morning Mr Globe Fish asked me the time, so I looked at my computer and dive watch.

Only one of them could tell me the time without needing to scroll to an alternate display 8)

Mr Pt Jackson Shark didn't care what time it is because sharks are the Chuck Norris of the oceans

Been wearing the OS300 on a Hirsch Extreme. The strap has been a bit of a revelation actually, and balances the big watch better than anything else to date. I really like it as a dive strap too. Makes me wonder (a lot) about why I would bother with the extra expense of another Isofrane

Great photos and the OS 300 is, well, the tits!

Borrowed the pic of it, the Globe Fish and the shark for use in my desktop background pic rotation!

Nah, I have no such excuse. The dive was quite shallow.

Just putting out what should be bleeding obvious for the 'nobody needs a dive watch now there are dive computers' crowd.

Its a seriously decent computer. Its the first I've had that has a properly decent inbuilt compass. Also does up to 6 gases and can track 6 wireless transmitters. It runs the same algorithm as my Geo2 and Oceanic BUD too which makes using them as backups very easy :-)

Great shots! Seems like a power reserve is appropriate in a dive watch, too... That Orient is sweet! The computed is cool, too, but in the same way a calculator watch is "cool"...
