OT - A happy shout to the 'Lords...

OT - A happy shout to the 'Lords...

Postby AlbertaTime » March 29th 2015, 3:33pm

Life's been astonishingly busy almost since I got back from China last year, but especially so since, additional to my two full time jobs, I've done side-work in web design, and completed a very informative *human rights based* core of courses designed for workers supporting folks with developmental challenges.

So I lurk, chip in occasionally, and try for find time to sleep.

The good side is, and as you already know: I work the two jobs so I can get to China. If I just worked one job, I could live OK and quite happily, but I couldn't afford an annual month long trip to China. So I hustle while I still can...

...And this year, I leave late June to late July Image) , and will at least attend the 100th Anniversary of Beijixing Watch and Clock Factory in beautiful coastal Yantai, and obviously I'll do some other watch stuff, but the focus for me this time is to revisit friends and places, and to add a couple of eye-candy stops like maybe Xian and/or Guilin (which I'd hoped to get to last time) because bucket list is bucket list.

Anyays...We at Watchlords have taken a couple of hard losses in the past very short while. In the hopes of lightening the load...

Hard working man, chasing the dream! That's great to hear, A-T.

So, if I remember, this year's trip is early vs last year?

Look forward to your photos and stories.

Slightly later than last year. which was June 8th to July 5th. And I wouldn't normally go at this time of year but the Beijixing date is fairly inflexible. Otherwise, I'd choose spring or fall.

But still...:-)

Not close at all. Xian, if I get there this year, but it's hundreds of miles away.

Hundreds of miles? I thought China was the size of Texas or Rhode Island or something. :D

Just wondering, excuse me being goofy. It's been a rough weekend. I am looking forward to your annual trip.

I've always wanted to see the Three Gorges Dam, as well, but I've been led to believe that it's access by westerners is pretty tightly controlled. That and the one-million, life-sized clay soldiers are part of my personal PRC bucket list. Are you taking watch orders, Paul?

Update: The 26th Annual China Watch and Clock Fair is a go, June 25-28, in scenic Shenzhen.

Looking forward to more of the fun like last time.
