These were all shot at Li Qui-sheng's (Rik Li's) Tianjin Edwin Clock company shop in Tianjin

I think I would rather have one of those setting on my book shelf then that new 29mm tall inshita. They have a nice sound to the movements. Seems like something from a past time of clock building.

Certainly, they're derivative to some degree, but all clock mechanisms are. You're right, though, or at least the past skills continue :-)

Many if not most of these mechanisms, however, also have or use improvements developed by Li Qui-sheng, like the chain drive ratchet mechanism from an earlier post, or like this machine for crafting multiple ratcheted wheels from tube, designed and built by Li Qui-sheng.
