Farer Watches

Postby koimaster » April 5th 2017, 8:42am

At Farer, we are passionate about creating watches that make the perfect companion for life’s adventures.

Our original collection of watches is named after iconic British explorers, inspiring individuals who perfectly define the true spirit of Farer: daring, courageous and filled with ambition beyond the ordinary. From Amy Johnson – Britain’s most famous female aviatrix – to Everest climber, George Mallory and Tutankhamun archaeologist Howard Carter.

With the arrival of the Automatics, we have taken inspiration from the famous vessels that carried Britain’s most brilliant explorers around the globe. Our first three Automatics are named Beagle, Endurance and Hopewell

Quite lovely watches, actually- they look a lot like the field/military style casual watches of the late 1940s and early 1950s. Don't see anything particularly 1960s-style (they claim them to be inspired with 1950s-1960s watches, but while the former is there, the latter- ummm, not really) about them, though.

The Endurance is beautiful, but the Beagle is not half bad either.

I pine for the halcyon era of Swiss watchmaking.

I've seen these priced way better on Massplop.

Wasn't around for the halcyon days so they are new to me, but I get it. Lots of players in the vintage inspiration game. It is just the shear amount of puke inducing dreck you have to wade through to find something that rings your bell.

Ding fucking dong, I like em.

I see nothing that would make me drop $500, let alone $1,000.

Guess I have to partially agree- while I do like the watches (as I've already said), they are overpriced. The same money (almost exactly the same) buys one of these new Tissots with the Powermatic 80 equipped with a silicon balance...
