When “Kiss My Ass" meant it

Postby koimaster » October 24th 2017, 5:00pm

Sports are full of strange traditions. In baseball, in the middle of the 7th inning, everyone stands up for a stretch. In cricket, if someone scores a 111, all the players stand on one leg. And in France, if you lose a game of petanque by a score of 13-0, you have to kiss a lady on the rear end. Today, we’re bringing you origin of this French tradition of butt kissing, and it might be even weirder than the act itself.

With the lilt of Irish laughter

Every day and in every way

Now forever and ever after."

One of my employees is an active Petanque player. He confirmed the tradition is in practice (but they use a small sculpture, not a real fanny).

In twenty years or so, the German language will be one, massively long compound word.
