Hi from Lethbridge, Alberta

Hey everyone!! I'm a huge watch fan and happy to join the conversation here! I do have my own watch brand where we make watches using historical materials, you can check that out at http://www.novowatch.com. Other than that, I'm here to learn and join some conversations around watches!

Good luck with that. It is a nice strap though.
I think that the historical significance is lost on anyone not from the immediate area and younger than 80 years old. Otherwise it's just rusty old steel and gnarly old wood.
I like the size but that's about it.

Oh-welcome.

Where do you source the unassembled movements from? Or do you disassemble and modify them?

Like the straps, don't like the watches (the design just doesn't convince me, but everyone has their own preferences in terms of aesthetics). As long as you're not here to beg for Kickstarter funding, I'm fine with it - I find it commendable, when someone makes watches of their own.

That said, welcome. If you're here to learn and talk watches, you're at the right address. Guess we're all more than happy to help you know more- I certainly am.

Not too bad, but the price of the Reclanmation is ambitious, while the Pure is, well - nothing special.

Carbon steel? How did you address the inevitable staining/rusting issue?

Cheers.

6498-1 common movement that can be had in many different watches. Nothing that screams I'm different. Hope you have 15 friends.

Where's the country of Albera? I can't find it on my fucking globe. Then again, it still has Imperial Russia on it.

Welcome, goddamn it!

I, too, am looking for Albera on a map.

Also the hue of your moniker is up for debate.

I think it might be one of those Balkan shithole countries where all the women look like Grandma Moses and all the men want to cut your throat for looking at their women. Or, they might just want to cut your throat just because. One wonders why so many people died in the Kosovo thing when the smart thing to do would have been just immigrating to fucking Germany or something. I mean, the krauts have their issues, to be sure, but most of their broads are pretty hot. Like Angela Merkel; there's one hot MILF, goddamn it. She even got W. all hot and bothered. That's one fraulein I wouldn't mind seeing in a shit video with Susan Boyle. Marrone, I gotta go take care of something over here.... I'll be back in a couple minutes.

Totally get it. Cost to get all the material through from raw to finished is long and expensive, that's why the price.

Great question! We have a coating process to avoid that and at that high quality of steel it's not threatening. The rail is 133 years old and barely had surface rust. That being said, we've tested it in moisture with coating for a long time with zero issues.
