New to Forum

Postby carrera997 » December 22nd 2016, 9:01pm

Greetings all. My name is Steve and I live in the Metro Atlanta GA area. I am 56 years old but never grew up. I love all mechanical watches and even a few with a battery (everyone needs a vintage Bulova Accutron Spaceview in their collection). I purchased my first new Rolex in 1984 but didn't get in to collecting until about 7 years ago. Now I have about 25 watches. My favorite everyday watch is my Rolex GMT Master II and my favorite dress watch is a Franck Muller 6850 SC. I can appreciate most watches no matter how much it costs. I even have an $89 Invicta Automatic Diver and an Orient Mako to go along with a Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver and an Omega Seamaster PO. Thank you for having me in your forum.

How ya doin', Steve. Welcome to the deep end of the pool. I have great memories of Georgia from my past; spent a lot of time in the Winder area, believe it or not. Hope you enjoy it here; it's never boring, that's for sure.

Use the Invicta for golf, not the FM.

Not so sure about the Invicta. Do like the Franck Muller and the Zenith. Welcome to the party. :D

Welcome to Cayman country, sir..was in Atlanta a couple months ago..had the pleasure of dining at one your better known BBQ joints, 'though the name of it escapes me now..wasn't too far from Buckhead(a little further N.W.)..aside from the pulled pork, is known for a side that I think was a mixture of corn and something else...it was all good!!!...

Welcome to the fun house.

I also used to live down that way for a short while, a little place called Buford just outside Atlanta. It was a pretty area.

Any hows.. have a blast here.

A 911 guy? Steve's cool with me - welcome man! A GMT is a sure thing, but it is certainly nice to mix it up with some of the others you've referenced... Great collection.

Welcome to the forum, and Happy Holidays, while we're at it. I'm the only admitted fan of Invicta divers here, usually starting with the 40mm pro-divers, and working my way up to the 47mm Grand Divers, of which I have nearly a dozen (that's "almost 12," for those of you in Rio Lindo and Perth-Fremantle). It's just about the only really good work they continue to do these days. And speaking of limited good work, I'm assuming you're a Falcons fan, and, if so, we have yet another thing in common; I'm a lifelong Chargers fan, and, at the age of 57, I've just begun to realize that I will probably never live to see my team win a Super Bowl.™ (And, if they do win one, the spiteful bastards will almost certainly do it as the Smell-A Chargers...)

But none of that's here nor there; it is very cool that you're here, and I do believe that you and our "car guys" will have a lot of nifty Otto Mobile stuff to discuss, and so forth.

Again, welcome to the deep end of the cesspool, and I'll look forward to breaking your balls discussing watches with you in the coming weeks. 8-)

Ahh yes, a internal Porsche designation.
