Svaglic aka Alison, get with it man.

I thought Alison was long for Al! Who wuda thunk? My bad.

I really really like watches. The new models that look good or have good movements are usually too large for me. I wasn't impressed with the fashion watches for women and most other brands that put out good movements for men, put quartz in their women's watches or plaster diamonds (fake and real) on them. Higher end like Rolex had some nice choices, but I would have had a more expensive problem than I already do. I just wanted various watches that looked good and had a variety of movements. Koi suggested I look at vintage, at first I wasn't impressed. I kept seeing women's watches that were the size of the tip of my pinky finger. Then I noticed that mens vintage was a perfect size for my wrist and I had a lot of choices with movements and textured dials. Sooooo, that's how I ended up where I am today. I wanted to learn on this forum because the guys are honest and if I buy bunk they will tell me I made a bad choice. I enjoy this forums humor, it reminds me of my old Army unit and fire stations banter. I am amazed at the collective knowledge the members on this forum have. I appreciate the sacrifices Koi and other members have made to keep this forum going and to put out truthful information. So, I am here and learning every day, I'm also improving my tastes and collection every year.

Damn me, that's a great post svaglic.
I have a friend who wears men's vintage for exactly those reasons! I gave her this watch when I left (was working in a charity shop), a late 1950's/early 1960's Waltham. Crazy woman covered me with lipstick...

Jeebus Mort, koimaster warned me you would try to get aholt of my watches.
He just didn't tell me how far you would go to get 'em...

Well, gents' vintage watches do give you way more options, and while ladies' watches as such are rather susceptible to changing fads and fashion, gents' vintage watches rarely or never get out of style.

I haven't seen a lot of women among watch collectors- as a matter of fact, I've until now only been aware of one. She used to post in WUS vintage forum, and had a really great knowledge of pocket watches, especially anything Zenith-related (that including Georges Favre-Jacot's pre-Zenith designs, and his "Billodes" movements). Haven't seen her post in a longer while, though.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
