Hello All Boseefus is happy to be here

Postby BoseefusJones » June 28th 2016, 3:45pm

Hello everybody,

I became interested in horology a few years ago, before my grandfather died he gave me a large seiko gmt world desk clock he received when he retired, I've always been interested in science and engineering and I love the precision and "heartbeat" of automatic time pieces, the confluence of those two things I suppose brought me here, to a website where people are honest with each other and support the democratization of horology, you don't need to be a millionaire to collect and the more knowledge you have the less money you need.
I feel Invicta has so much to hurt that democratization because they sell themselves to an audience that is usually new and doesn't know better, instead of taking that responsibility as someone like Seiko does, seriously they take advantage of people and so many of those people just give up and assume that how the watch world is, it bothers me. Seiko offers quality entry level watches and does great business has a huge following and then those people go on to buy grand Seiko's. An honest business model can succeed.
Moral of the story, I'm Matt, Fuc K Lalo I hope he gets lupus and thank you for having me.
Cheers

This is either far too obvious or I have become a cynic. In either case a fan of Hank Jr can't be all bad.

Welcome to the forum Matt.

Lupus? Oddly specific choice.

im a med student and Lupus is just a horrible thing, it seems that people like Lalo live to be 145 and good honest people end up being the afflicted ones. I would have said I hope gets cracs or something but hes probably patient zero for that

I've been wanting to start checking out garage sails and open air/flea markets. I'm sure there are so many great pocket watch movements out there. Well thank you all for the one welcome And you all have a good night

I love garage sails, I get most of my underwear there. Some are hardly used.

My last place had a twin hull garage. Lots of storage and very stable.

I gave up the sails and since I only have a carport, was able to make do with a simple trolling motor.

I suppose I should be nicer, but you're either one of the least literate med students I've ever encountered, or you're using Google Translate to go from your native tongue to English and back again. Granted, I could be mankind a big mistake here, and, if so, I do hope you'll forgive me.

OBTW, that's a lovely clock, Mr. Jones.

Apropos of nothing, have you ever used the name "jojo" before? Just curious.

And there I go, digressing again. Welcome to the forum. Where do you study medicine? How much longer do you have until your residency? What specialty are you looking at? Sorry to be so nosy, but the field of medicine holds a very high level of fascination for me.

Anyhow, I do hope you enjoy the forum, Mr. Jones. an aye hop ewe half lost off phunn hear, two. searyestly. ;)

Another amusing ancedote, regarding "Jojo."

Way back, my store had a payphone that was fixed to the wall right next to my receiving room. About the only people who used the phone were derelicts or drug dealers. We also got a lot of incoming calls, which were almost exclusively from drug dealers. It was the practice of the booksellers when, passing the ringing payphone, and nobody around to take the call, to pluck the handset and hang it up. One day I was heading into the receiving room and the phone rang. I looked around, and saw nobody there to take the call, and picked up the phone.

"Yo," I said.

"Yo," said the dialer. "Is Jojo dere?"

"Jojo!" I said, my voice rising. "Jojo?"

"Yeah," said the caller. "Is Jojo dere?"

"No, man," I said. "Jojo be dead, man. Ain't you heard? Jojo be fucking dead!"

Then I hung up. The guys in the receiving room thought it was pretty funny, and laughed hard.
