$900? In this day and age? The fools. I know where they can get one of those for double the price!

“Ghost” my ass. Someone took some acetone to half that bezel.

Slightly faded - OK. But this one is a)fuck-useless b)not even faded, there's nothing left there c)likely a forgery.

"Super ghost?" Super Crock of Shit sounds more like it.

The sad news is that the seller will most likely either find an idiot who will buy it, or soon we'll see it on a GMT-Master in a Chrono24 listing, with a title like "ULTRA RARE ROLEX GMT-MASTER GHOST BEZEL" (of course with capital letters), listed from Italy (various "faded bezel" watches are listed mostly from there - as to why is that so, I'll leave everyone to their deductions), with a "Price On Request" label, so that it tickles the vanity of the Donkey fan lot.

Yeah, well, you know, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

What this says to me is - buy a load of fake bezel inserts, whip up a quick legend, and fill your boots. People willing to spunk up to $1000 on crap like this deserve to get taken. All you need to do is sell one to make several thousand percent return.

The bezels on their own not necessarily are fake. Well, sometimes they are, as in the case of the Seamaster 300 FAP sold by Phillips-Shillips, but often they're original replacement bezels with faux-aging to them. I agree, though - people who pay tens of thousands for what isn't patina, but rust or paint bubbling due to the watch being flooded in the past, deserve to get fleeced.
