Wow. Is that all original (sans strap)? If so, wow.

Love that fancy case, and the really well-preserved dial.

I think I remember commenting on it before... Benrus Citation, likely from the 1950s. Solid gold, if I remember correctly?

I know it is from the 1950's. Has a C12 movement which I have not been able find anything on. It is solid 14k. Seller said he thought it might be a prototype. He has been selling watches since the mid 70s and said he cant recall ever seeing one like it. He was sorry to see it go ;)

Love the color marks on the dial. Unique and damned attractive.

"Fancy design" and "prototype" are miles apart. It is certainly the former, most unlikely to be the latter.

IIRC, I had problems identifying the movement as well. Benrus used generic movements only, so it has to be an ebauche, only more or less extensively modified - sometimes the bridge shapes were altered radically enough to leave only the balance cock and hairspring stud carrier shape as the only clues. The balance cock is usually the last thing that a manufacturer would modify, although from time to time that happened as well.
