That is soooooooo cool. I can't wait to see a review on it.

Stunning! I really love those crazy designs from the US makers from the early Deco period and through the 1950's.

That's one stunning watch. It's got a rather lovely strap as well... I can't identify that movement, though. Resembles certain ETAs and FHFs, but I couldn't find a direct match in the Ranfft archive. Any markings under the balance?

That's awesome Kev- the graphic on the dial looks like a service ribbon. I've never seen that on an old Benrus before, maybe there's a military tie-in to the watch. I've seen interesting graphics on Benrus, Hamilton, and whonot before, checkered flags, Masonic markings, company logos etc., for members of an organization, or to be gifts for service or retirement. Did they tell you anything about that marking where you bought it?

I've seen it on many, many Benrus watches, mostly from the 1950s. It's not a military marking, that I'm quite sure of. Appears to be a logo for the Benrus Citation collection.
Here, the logo appears on a 1950s advert:

Vintage is not my thing except for some old Omegas and Hammies. I'd never seen that marking before, and a brief search didn't reveal any watches that had it. That's one of the things I like the most about this joint- I still learn something every time I'm here. Thanks MK.
