Timex x Nigel Cabourn military style. Broad arrow & Vietnam?

Timex x Nigel Cabourn military style. Broad arrow & Vietnam?

Hi again! This is a watch I just receive a few days ago in the post from UK. All the way from Newcastle. Released just on 9th March, it's another collaboration between Timex and a designer and/or retailer, but this one is really superb. I've written quite a bit of it in the review I've linked here, so I won't make this post too lengthy. But briefly, it's a steel case 36 mm quartz watch inspired by the celebrated "Camper" line of watches from Timex, but with a bespoke dial different in many ways from the Japanese Timex Campers, different dial, different hands, different supplied straps. It was released as part of a SS18 collection from the designer, to celebrate his 50 years in design, and the designer's statement (see link) evokes the Vietnam war, "flower power," and British pop music among other things, as inspiration. And notice the broad arrow. Many people have "strong feelings" about the application of the broad arrow on a watch that is not a true military issue watch. I make arguments why I find it acceptable, but of course i understand those who do not. Anyway, I won't go on any more. Please do have a look, and if there are any more ideas or thoughts, I'd love to know. I've been wearing this for three days straight, and I'm really enjoying it. I hope you will like it. I like this one. But how are you supposed to read it in a mirror?

Uhm, is it 10:09 or is it 2209?? Can't say for certain without a am/pm indicator.......
A serious design flaw.

I retract my military recommendation.

Or is it 1:52 p.m. or a.m. I don't see a difference in length between the hour and minute hands on this?

Interesting review and opinion. If my Waterbury goes tits up I'd look at this one.

Cheers
