Finally

Finally

Postby foghorn » February 22nd 2018, 10:09am

I've been looking at these for the past 10 years and finally put out. I almost did 10 years ago but got a a Sinn U1 instead. That proved a mistake and it didn't last long. Too chunky and ,as I feared, I fucking hated the hands.
This one has been gnawing at my horological gut every time I would see a picture of it on other sites in the WURW threads so, with a little bit of unexpected cash courtesy of my former employer and a teasing PP balance I went full out. Brand new from an AD and everything.

It's nice, simple, and ballsy. Not much text on the black dial and legible enough for Mr. Magoo to read at a glance.

Attention to detail is great. Look at the date at 4:30. In most watches with the date here the window and date wheel are offset and you have to read the date at an angle. Sinn Placed the window and made the date wheel line up so that you weren't looking at it sideways. They didn't have to, but they did.
Also note how the lower ends of the hands are black, giving the hands a floating appearance.

Image

It's not a dive watch, but Sinn gave it a screw down crown and a W/R of 200 meters. They didn't have to, but they did.
Anti-magnetic and Shockproof. Also sapphire crystals front and back. Both sides of the front are anti reflective. Even the back crystal has a coating. Once again-they didn't have to but.....

Size is perfect for the style. 38.5 X 11. (that's a drop of water on the 9. Testing the W/R)

Image

Drilled lugs FWIW and a nice, quality leather strap. I also have a brown strap incoming from Panatime because this bad boi looks awesome on a brown strap.(not my pic.........yet)

Image

All in all well worth the years of indecision.

That's a nice one there Foghorn. Been tempted by the brand myself over the years. Congratulations.

From the AD and everything. Very cool; the difference is in the details.

I like the brown strap better, better color, better leather, too. Hard to know what you've got in those puffy straps.

I have to echo everyone else on this one, Fogglestaff; it's an absolutely beautiful and awesomely engineered piece of lithe and sensuous wartch flesh...it get's me all googly-eyed 'n shit.

As the Mantis-Head would say, so solly I came so rate to party, but I couldn't'uh pass up this opportunity to address the best watch-to-wearer match-up I ever seen; it's the perfect example of a true tool watch going true TOOL!! But, and you better mind me now, Mr. High Grand Pooh-Bah of Upper Butt Crack, NEVER um, ALWAYS remember to use this awesome power for good only, lest you end up like Conjurer, already an old man at 77, bereft of any friends or family, with only his three retarded cats to interact with and a couple of Invicter's and Turdling Aboriginals in his collection, all that remains after selling off his expensive wartches to pay off all his delinquent Valu Payz.

Even his loyal Sherpa, Tenzing What's-His-Fucking-Tibetan-Name, left him saying, "So solly, bazz, but you no pay me uh'nuff no more; I am loyal Sherpa, but paying me in cat shite and ferret puke jess doan cut it for me an dah meesus, bahzzz...we got kids to feed, an dey no like weasel ejecta and feline assfranks!! C'MON, bahzzzzz; git up off da flooreh; show me Shine da Flooreh! Sand the fence! Polish da KNOB!! Whacks on! Whacks OFF!! Ah, fuckit, man; we go bacteria to KneePaul, get bettah pay from the many grey-haired pony-tail wearing

Image Image Image Image 'S

living on da steets derr, BAHHHZZZZ. C-U-rator, Arri-gater!!"

Never forget this awesome power, Faggy, er Foggy, because someday THAT could be YOU!!

NOW GO DO, UH-THAT VOOO-DOOO, UH-THAT YOU DO SOOOooooOOO WELLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!
