another drinky purchase

another drinky purchase

Postby nimbleboy » January 25th 2018, 10:58am

I got home one night about a month ago after having had a little whiskey and foolishly fired up my computer. Massdrop had these for $100. I am not actively trying to buy quartz watches, but I liked the look of this one, plus it has a sapphire crystal and I figured- what the hell... I don't have any rectangular watches...

I really like it. I think it has nice balance and I like the way it features brushed and polished steel. I haven't seen a clasp like this one yet, and it took me a second to figure it out, but the bracelet is really comfortable and it seems to be of good quality (solid, not folded links).

It'll be a good watch for me to wear to work.

Ain't nothing wrong with that--it's certainly better than most drunk purchases I've made.

I like that one. I almost bought one years ago for the same reason. And I still have no square watches. I'm not hip.

On the bright side, it also means you're not square either.

Have never owned a square watch. Have looked at lots but haven’t found the right one yet.

For $100, that’s a damned nice foray into the style.

As a purchase made whilst a little bit fucked up, that's remarkably sober and well thought out! I've bought a few watches over the years after a night - sometimes a day - of heavy drinking, trying to focus on the screen and remember my credit card number. All of them have been shit.
