I got a Royal Orient. Well, actually, an Orient Star Royal. It is, as the geeks would say, a Grale wartche. I'll take some pics tomorrow when I have some sunlight.

Carry on!

Dilly Dilly here too.

Really like that one. How does the second hand move? Smoothly or can you see any hesitation?

It moves pretty smooth for a 6 bps movement. Interestingly, this movement, while not handwindable, it does hack, which isn't anything I've seen before with a Japanese wartche.

Good looking watch, can you tell a higher level of finishing over regular Orients? Ferret ranching must be good this year, congrats.

You go John! God damn, I’ve always wanted to try a Royal Orient. From afar, they’ve always seemed to be a tremendous value proposition sitting above mid level Seikos yet well below Grand Seiko pricing.

I too am eagerly awaiting more pictures of that beauty! And please share all your thoughts on it, I may try one someday.

That is a handsome and cool looking watch, conj.

It's curious that Orient didn't finish off a keyless work that hacks with hand-winding in an automatic sporting a power reserve indicator. I frequently wear my Pressage that has a PRI which I like because I can wind it so as not to have to reset it when it's up to bat, so to speak, without looking like some kind spaz shaking it up or flopping my wrist around to get it moving via the rotor. It doesn't seem like much of a deal cost wise to add a couplea' little wheels, a pinion at the stem, and an arbor or whatnot to the barrel. Brands and their little idiosyncrasies; I wonder if they'd respond to a query about it.

Sweet dial, I didn't realize it was textured. Good for you, you got the Royal.

That really is a nice looking watch, it will go well with your collection.
