Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m

Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 150m

Postby biglove » August 25th 2017, 9:51pm

Arrived today and finally got around to unpacking it after a long workday and spending a few precious hours with my wife on our 23rd anniversary.

Omega Aqua Terra 231.10.39.60.06.001, new, with grey teak dial. While I appreciate a nice presentation, Omega really takes it up a notch. Manufacture date is listed as 2017.

From all I have read, the 39mm watch is essentially identical to the automatic version, except for the movement. For $2K more I just cannot justify buying the auto. Excited about this movement's purported accuracy and low maintenance. Has a low battery indicator and should last roughly two years between battery changes.

This is my first new Omega and I am so excited. And the finish work is just incredible. AR coating makes the glass disappear, even in the fairly harsh LED lighting of my home office.

My first teak style dial was on my 2nd Datejust I ever owned some 26 years ago. And that watch is long gone thanks to the lack of financial discipline at 22 years of age. This one is paid in full and mine, all mine!

Am headed to bed but even more thrilled than a kid anticipating Christmas morning with the knowledge that I get to size the bracelet and wear it tomorrow.

With the goal of streamlining my collection to a core dozen or so, I am making progress. Hoping to build a collection containing only watches that if any one were my sole watch, I would be happy wearing for life. Along that line, this one ranks as my #1 choice from the moment I fastened the clasp. Sporty yet dressy, WR is more than I will ever need. The AT design has been something I have admired for years from photos. It is far better in the metal than any photo I have seen.

I now own all three Omega models that I have wanted. This AT, the Great White (thanks again, John) and the Bond PO (props to Juan on that one).

Next goal is a GS Anti-Magnetic quartz. Then a couple of Rolex/Tudor models, maybe.

Now for a few crappy photos, hastily done before I fall out in bed.

At long last. It's really fun to see you finally get this beautiful model and narrow down your collection. Congrats Travis.

I've always thought the AT is one of the best-looking Omega models ever. And I don't give a rat's ass if its a quartz, and you're right - you get the same watch sans the movement. The EOL indicator on Omega's movements is usually first rate as well (I'm assuming it's similar to the 1538 or something in that series).

Really hot stuff, love.

Nice pick-up BL... The hour markers along with the texture in the dial are so aesthetically pleasing. Interesting how it would be another 2k+ just for the movement.

Thanks, all. From two reviews I read, it is the exact same case.

Appreciate the kind words. I am just so happy with it.
