Way back machine find,

Way back machine find,

Postby foghorn » July 7th 2017, 12:37pm

I got through work early today so I decided to stop by Mr. Peabody place. Since Sherman took off over 50 years ago old Peabody has been complacent and just sits around all day pining for the "good old days"
I try to stop by a few times a year just to shoot the shit. Today we were talking about watches and I told him how I was looking for an Accutron Railroad approved. (Fuck you Webb Ball-my trains run on Bulova time) I was shocked when he suggested we fire up the Wayback machine and take a trip back to 1972 and look for one. Just before we went he reached behind his bow tie and pulled out a joint and said " let's get in the spirit of the 70's and fire this up first"
Well, fuck me sideways, I ain't saying no to that.
5 minutes later we were outside EB Horn on Washington St. in Boston and about to get me a Bullie Accutron ChooChoo approved hummer! Hot Damn!!
In we went and were greeted by a nice enough salesman in bellbottoms who looked like Tom fucking Jones. I thought it was unusual, but Peabody said it's not.
When I said what I wanted to look at he reluctantly told me that the Tuning fork Accutrons were no longer being made. I was a bit surprised that he'd try to BS me like that and started to get pissed when Mr. P nudged me and showed me a printout from the Wayback machine. Apparently we were so stoned that we ended up in 1977 instead of 1972.
The salesman did offer to show me the latest Bulova Accutron which replaced the old hummers. He went on about how it used a step motor so you could see each individual second tick off and no more irritating humming at night. He also told me how these newfangled Accutron Quartz watches had this thing called "accuset" which allows the watch to almost set itself at any point that you notice it is off by a few seconds. With just the push of a button at 4 o clock.
He had one example in the store , so I took a look. Looked good and a good size at 34 mm. (it was 1977 dammit) He only had one in a gold tone, which I generally don't buy, but since I was wrecked and it was 1977 and he looked like Tom Jones I figured WTF and went for it. Luckily the Wayback machine also affected my wallet and the bills were legit for 1977.

We just got back awhile ago and I took a few quickies of my new old soulless quartz warTch
