Wow, super nice score John. Sounds like there are a lot of great stories with that watch too.

Very, very cool! Always thought this era of Tudor was underrated.

A few impressions after wearing it for four days straight:

--While Dr. Smell's watchmaker (who did the overhaul on this watch before I got it) certainly can't be accused of rushing through his work, he really knows his shit. No marks I could find at all on this watch, it looks new out of the box. Regulated to about +1 second a day.

--40-41mm is the perfect size. The Tudor wears like a dream. The bracelet is pure porn. The clasp is the standard Rolex stamped steel that was common before WISs started giving a shit about such things. The bezel is recessed into the case (like a Sumo!!) and difficult to grip and turn because it's pretty flat. The crystal is great, doesn't reflect too much. The cyclops actually magnifies the date.

Even though it's a Rolex product, it looks nothing like a Sub, which is refreshing. The dial is very legible and easy to read. The bezel is uncluttered with all those pesky hashmarks for minutes.

Many thanks to Dr. Smells for giving me a good deal on this wartche!!
