Watch Time In NYC Next Weekend

Postby TemerityB » October 8th 2016, 9:25am

Watch Time Magazine is hosting its annual New York City event next weekend.

This display event will be at Gotham Hall at 36th and Broadway. and Saturday tickets are $39. On that day, there are a mess of seminars, including one on the history of dive watches. Log on for the complete schedule.

Friday night is the opening cocktail party ($99), with cocktails and finger foods included in the admission price; a bunch of watch company exes will be there to give obtuse answers to pointed questions.

Omega and Grand Seiko will be represented at the event, and they're likely the "low end" brands listed - also there are such luxury imprints as RGM, Harry Winston, Bell & Ross, Corum, Urban Jurgensen, Vacheron Constantin, Jager, fog's favorite brand MB&F, and a bunch of others. It actually is a decent chance to check out the newest wares of the companies without hassle or being rushed. Unlike other such events, you can buy watches at the Watch Time weekend.

I've been to one of these things in the past and they're really stiff, but at least there's no fits sammiches and sack races - or shorts and Jon Cena t-shirts for that matter; dress well. The seminars can be kind of informative. I'm on the fence.

The industry buzz is that Constantin Weisz is going to make a major announcement.

You might want to consider making the trip. One of my sources has heard whispers of a potential Constantin Weisz / MB&F collaboration.

Here's some Droz models they're showing next weekend. Man, if this stuff ain't drool-worthy, I don't know what is.

Inching closer to actually going.

The Droz boutique is sick. I will pass on this event. Seem to be more involved with sailboats than watches these days.
