I would concur. Although how folks come across online vs real life can be in stark contrast.

When I worked psych, we always said the only difference between the patients and the staff was who carried the keys.

ALL healthcare professionals are messed up. At least emotionally, often mentally. Is why we take care of other people. We are usually attempting to fix others to avoid dealing with our own demons; but, most can't see this. For those with some insight into just how goofy we are, there is hope for some improvement.

The level of crazy from least to most is accepted as follows:
Lab personnel/Rad Techs
Respiratory Therapists
Most nurses and pharmacists
Most MDs
ICU/OR/ER nurses/hospital pharmacists
Psych nurses
Psychologists
Cardiothoracic surgeons
Psychiatrists
Neurosurgeons
Social workers*

*social workers are a special lot. They can range from a tad bit wacko to batshit crazy. Oddly enough, their level of craziness, unlike the others, does not relate to level of degree attained. ALL social workers are nuts. Period.

To the above list I'd add hospital administrators who are missing at least one toe.

Perhaps we have welcomed the good doctor in an inappropriate manner considering his station in life. I cannot claim to speak for this whole collection of uneducated rubes at WatchLords, but I would like to extend an olive branch on behalf of myself. Doc you should understand that most of us would have to sell internal organs, doublewides, or our Nascar collector plates to come up with that kind of scratch. If I had twenty thousand dollars to spend on a wartch, I reckon I would take the next bus to Sams Club and buy a pallet of Invicters. Not sure how I could get them home on the bus but that there is a problem I would sure like to have. Lol.

Yup.

To the above list I'd add--hospital administrators/lobbyists/Down East Yankees who hate big fat people who break hospital equipment with their obese, bloated-ass bodies--who are missing at least one toe.

I was trying to figure out at what point we were egging him on. Then Mark threw me off with his mostly polite reply after Hal blasted away about slowing his roll.

If that wasn't a troll it was one wildly immature psychologist.

Thought "doc" claimed to be a psychiatrist? That would make him an MD!

Not saying that I haven't met some immature MDs. Seems especially so for those who graduated young or have been in school from age 5-35 with some of the surgical specialties.

Immature? Maybe.

I am leaning towards troll; but, trying to give the benefit of the doubt. IF he is as educated as he claims to be, he isn't immature...he is fucking around to have fun, me thinks?!

That's right , here we go ! You didn't really think I'd leave did you ? Firstly , it's an informative forum , and secondly I wouldn't give you the satisfaction. And I really am a shrink .. My methods are a little unorthodox but I get results without medicating people into zombies . I employ my own little methods of ' shock treatment .'

Damnit! I am liking Dr Hal more each post!

Still didn't do the proper intro and such, which is to shame; but, if you are truly an MD, I applaud your resilient style!

What's important here is that no one really cares what you do for a living or what your watch budget is. I tried to help you out in the beginning but you seem a bit incapable of handling the barbs thrown at you by the welcoming committee, which is surprising considering your expertise in the workings of the mind. You come across as an angry child rather than one trained in psychiatry.
Perhaps a photo of a watch or two would help the members believe you have a true interest in watches at all. You can easily open a Photobucket account under a different name if you are worried about being outed.
Because you seem capable of stringing together words to form sentences I hope you continue to contribute.
