So that's the "loud conversations" watch.

You think they could've tried a little harder to make it look like a Daytona?

The thing I've always found remarkable about a watch they originally charged a grand for is how it really didn't look all that different from the $75 quartz model that actually ran.

Do they really think that no one is ever going to open the watches they make these outrageous claims about and reveal them to be frauds? I have the Zodiac Calame with the D/D chrono module; the genuine D/D mod is highly distinctive. A grand for that POS. It is difficult to believe that the FTC has yet to act and continues to allow these clowns to unabashedly screw the public.

My current conjecture is that Millionsmart or somebody similar in Kowloon bought the base movement and module on behalf of Invicter then shipped the lot to a cave in outer Mongolia to be assembled with a 28 ounce framing hammer and no spacer. It was then placed in a yellow box by Heromex or somebody and shipped to Hollywood Florida.

Which would explain both Eyal's and DD's baffled expressions when the kludge failed to satisfy.

The strange thing is that no matter how badly I allowed my imagination to run wild back then it still failed to be as appallingly fucked as the truth.
When two opposite points of view are expressed with equal intensity, the truth does not necessarily lie exactly halfway between them. It is possible for one side to be simply wrong.

"Reserve." "Swiss Made."

No such things.
